Terms of use
Last updated 30 September 2026
By creating an account or using 3DN1 you agree to these terms. 3DN1 is DESIGN • PRINT • CREATE — a library of parts, Prompt → make, Orbit scan, and send-to-your-printer.
The service
3DN1 lets you browse frozen parts, size them, describe a new shape, orbit-scan an object, and send a job to a printer on your network. The public site is the door. The app is where print work happens. Features in beta can change or fail. Orbit is in; shiny or clear objects often fail.
Accounts
You need an email and a password (at least 8 characters). Keep the password to yourself. You are responsible for what is done on your account. Delete the account in the app under Settings → Account.
Your content
Prompts, names, Orbit photos, and meshes you create are yours. You give 3DN1 the limited right to store and process them so the product can run. Do not upload content you do not have the right to use. Do not upload anyone’s photos without permission.
Shape writing
Shape writer drafts a script for Build. If you use it, the description you type and any scan photos for that build go to the host at print.3dn1.app, and from there to Anthropic. You tick Allow in the app before that send. The output can be wrong. You must follow Anthropic’s Usage Policy as well as these terms.
Your own Anthropic API key is optional. With no key of yours, 3DN1’s platform key is used and Anthropic bills 3DN1. If you paste a key that starts with sk-ant-, Anthropic bills that key. This beta is free. It is not a bundle of Anthropic tokens, and we do not sell a count of shapes.
No weapons
You must not describe, create, or scan weapons or weapon-adjacent items. That includes firearms, guns, explosives, ninja stars / throwing stars, and blades made to be weapons. Workshop tools are allowed — a heat gun or a caulk gun is a tool, not a weapon.
3DN1 applies a best-effort filter on Prompt → make and Orbit names. The filter can miss. These terms still apply. We may refuse or remove a build or scan that breaks this rule.
Printers and networks
Jobs go to the printer you connect, on your LAN. You are responsible for that machine, the filament, and the space around it. 3DN1 does not run a demo printer.
Acceptable use
- No weapons or violence-intent objects, as above.
- No attempts to break into the service, other accounts, or printers you do not own.
- No spam, malware, or content that is illegal where you use 3DN1.
Availability
We aim to keep 3DN1 up. We do not promise unbroken access, and a failed scan or a refused build is not a breach of these terms.
